The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has recently expanded its Golden Visa program by introducing five new categories of eligibility. This strategic move aims to attract and retain global talent across various sectors, reinforcing the UAE’s position as a hub for innovation and excellence.
Overview of the New Golden Visa Categories
The Golden Visa, launched in 2019, offers a 10-year residency to select foreign nationals who contribute significantly to the UAE’s economic growth and knowledge sectors. The latest expansion includes the following categories:
1. Nurses with Long-Term Service
In recognition of their dedication, nurses who have served at Dubai Health for over 15 years are now eligible for the 10-year Golden Visa. This initiative, announced on International Nurses Day, underscores the vital role nurses play in achieving a healthier society and improving quality of life.
2. Teachers and Educators
Private education professionals in Dubai, including those from early childhood centres, schools, and universities, can now apply for the Golden Visa. Eligibility is based on demonstrated academic excellence and contributions to raising education standards. Family sponsorship is also permitted under this category.
3. Content Creators
Digital content creators, filmmakers, and social media influencers are now eligible for long-term residency under the creative residency track. Applicants can submit an online application without the need for a sponsor.
4. E-sports and Gaming Professionals
Professionals in gaming and e-sports can now obtain a 10-year Golden Visa as part of the Dubai Programme for Gaming 2033 (DPG33). This initiative aims to position Dubai as a global hub for gaming and e-sports.
5. Luxury Yacht Owners
Owners of luxury yachts are now included in the Golden Visa program, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to attracting high-net-worth individuals and promoting the maritime sector.
