Serbia is launching an e-visa system that will allow foreign nationals to apply for visas online, streamlining the visa application process. The new system will eliminate the need for travelers to visit embassies or consulates in person.
The e-visa system will be available to citizens of several countries, including those from Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, who previously needed to go through traditional visa application procedures. Although the exact launch date is not yet confirmed, the system is expected to be operational soon. This initiative is designed to enhance the country’s digital infrastructure and provide a more convenient visa process for travelers.

Fast Processing: The e-visa process is expected to be quicker compared to traditional methods, with many applicants receiving their visa decisions within a few days or even hours, depending on the type of visa and application volume.
Approval Notification: Once approved, travelers will receive their e-visa electronically, which can be printed out or saved on mobile devices for presentation upon arrival in Serbia.
Eligibility for Certain Nationalities: The e-visa will be available to travelers from countries that previously required a visa to enter Serbia, including several nations in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
Visa Types: It’s expected that the e-visa system will support various visa types, such as tourist, business, or transit visas.
Extended Access: Serbia plans to expand its digital visa offerings, which could help travelers to manage their visa status online, including possible visa extensions or other related services.
On March 19, 2025, Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić and Mihailo Jovanović, Director of the Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment, signed a cooperation protocol to improve the Visa Information System. Minister Đurić highlighted that Serbia is on the verge of a significant advancement in consular services, with the online e-visa system expected to become operational soon.
This move is streamlined with Serbia’s broader efforts to modernize its consular services and simplify the visa application process for travelers worldwide.
