As per the Finland authorities official statement, the country is opening its doors for IT professionals in software development, engineering, game development and post-doctoral research roles. The official government agency of Finland named “Business Finland” is responsible for promoting trade and investment, financing innovation, promoting travel and attracting talent.

Laura Lindeman, Senior Director of Business Finland’s Work in Finland unit appreciated Finland authorities’ proactive approach to attract foreign talent specifically in the IT and technology sector.
Lindeman further said “In the long run, Finland is looking for professionals, for example IT specialists in areas such as software development, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies. Finland offers an unparalleled opportunity for professionals to thrive in a country that values innovation, sustainability and a balanced lifestyle”.
Sanna Marttinen, Executive Director at Tulanet mentioned “Our role is to coordinate the cooperation between 11 Finnish government research institutes, and we are very excited about the government’s heavy investment in research and development (R&D),”
This program will be funded by Finland’s R&D plan who is planning to hire 85 new postdoctoral researchers between 2025 and 2028. The expected salary for them can go up to 4000 Euros.
Tech companies in Finland are looking for professionals with a background in software development, data science, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, in addition to having a solid foundation in problem-solving and innovation. Applicants should have qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering or related field accompanied by fluency in English. Although, if a person knows Finnish then it will be an added advantage.
